VOIS Cyprus alongside several international student societes visited the Minister of Education to discuss international students' issues

VOIS Cyprus alongside several international student societes visited the ministry of education yesterday, and met with the Minister of Education, Mr Nazım Çavuşoğlu, alongside others, to discuss international student issues.

The issue of agents was at the forefront of the discussion. We highlighted how agents scam students on the reality of the TRNC, and called for a mitigation of the unregulated nature of agencies. The Ministry said that there is going to be stricter monitoring on agents, laws implemented, and a new developments, in the future. VOIS insisted also that the source of many issues are the universities and that they have to be regulated and supervised as well.

Housing issues were also discussed alongside general student matters, and the Ministry will meet with us again to discuss the housing proposal we are drafting, as well results of our surveys.
